Great Northern Warehouse

Great Northern Warehouse is a Grade 2 listed, mixed-use retail and leisure destination in the heart of Manchester. With tenants ranging from restaurants and bars to estate agents and leisure operators, the site needed a waste partner who could support compliance, sustainability, and tenant engagement all while keeping operations running smoothly.

    Managing waste across a busy, multi-tenant site was a complex operation. The Great Northern team faced the challenge of reducing the number of waste collections to
    save costs, while also driving better recycling performance. They needed a partner who could help educate tenants, streamline processes, and guide them on the journey to achieving zero waste to landfill.

    The solution

    Panda designed a fully managed waste service tailored to the unique needs of the building. Cardboard was flatpacked to increase bin capacity, reducing the number of waste journeys required. On-site tenant training sessions were delivered to build recycling awareness, supported by branded signage and updated waste management handbooks to keep everyone on the same page. Ongoing education, combined with Panda’s approachable and responsive team, ensured best practices were maintained year-round.
